A voice born in Mukachevo: the story of young singer Iryna Hapachilo
Every generation has its dreamers — those who are not afraid to reach for the stars. This year, 14-year-old singer Iryna Hapachilo and her team, Mriynyky, took their first big step: the group made it onto the long list of 15 participants for the 2025 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Her voice is sincere, pure, and full of inspiration. She sings as if she is telling a story — about kindness, friendship, and belief that anything is possible. In the band, she found her musical family, and in “Dreamers” — a team of like-minded people who together create music that touches the heart.
Iryna Hapachilo was born in the picturesque city of Mukachevo in Transcarpathia. From early childhood, the girl showed creativity in everything she did, but she did not even suspect that singing would become her true calling. Once, on her mother’s birthday, Iryna sang in front of her family for the first time. It was at that moment that her parents realized that this was her path. Soon after, they enrolled their daughter in the vocal group “Brevis VOCAL Studio,” where her talent began to blossom.
“I was a creative child from an early age, but I never imagined that singing would become a part of my life. I often sang at home for my family, just for fun, and never thought that I would one day perform on a big stage. Thanks to Brevis VOCAL Studio and my teachers, I got this opportunity — to travel, perform, and represent Ukrainian children and their magical voices together with like-minded people,” says Iryna. Iryna started attending Brevis VOCAL Studio at the age of nine and has been singing in this group for over five and a half years. It was here that she began not just to sing, but to live every note.
With each passing year, her voice changed, becoming deeper and more confident. Iryna has participated in numerous competitions and performed on stages in Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Uzhhorod, and, of course, her native Mukachevo. Together with the Brevis VOCAL Studio group, she represented Ukraine abroad, notably in Bulgaria in 2024, where the group performed at an international competition and won public acclaim.
Even before joining the group “Mriynyky,” Iryna and Artur Bilichko sang in the duo “Gaby,” founded and led by Magdalina Bilichko, which became an important stage in the development of her creativity. It was with this duo that they became semi-finalists in the “DityHelpMusic” competition, where they first made a name for themselves as bright young performers. In 2024, Iryna continued her journey as a finalist in DityHelpMusic, and in 2025, she joined the new vocal group Mriynyky. The group consists of Artur Bilichko, Vadym Marynets, and Daryna Fedina — young, talented performers united by their love of music and desire to bring their Ukrainian voice to the world. Together, they create sincere, inspired compositions full of light and hope.
The year 2024 was particularly significant for Iryna — it was then that she wrote her first original song, “Svit dlia nas” (The World for Us), in which she reflected her dream of kindness, unity, and faith in the future. In addition, she recorded a series of covers of popular Ukrainian and international songs, each of which she performed in her own way — with soul and her own style. The song “Svit dlia nas” was the first solo work by the young singer Iryna Hapachilo, who has already won over many with her voice and sincerity. This composition was not born by accident — it was the result of Iryna’s deep reflections on people, goodness, and faith in the light that lives within each of us.
The inspiration for the song came when the singer first felt that music was not just a hobby, but her way of communicating with the world. After participating in the DityHelpMusic project, where Iryna gained important creative experience, she felt the desire to create something of her own, something sincere and genuine. This is how “The World for Us” came to be — a song that expresses hope, dreams of unity, and the power of goodness. Iryna’s family has great respect for their ancestors, and it is through song that she conveys their history, the voice of her land. Her performance of folk songs is like a journey through time, into which the listener is immersed from the very first note.
The young singer has many performances, stages, and songs ahead of her, but most importantly, she has already found her path. A path where music becomes the language of the heart, and every note is a step towards fulfilling a dream.
